USDA Water System Grant
BACKGROUND
The City of Linden has been awarded a grant/loan from the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to replace up to 50% of our existing water lines and create a looped system that will mean fewer homes without water when service must be shut down to fix major leaks. As part of the project, one new elevated storage tank will be constructed to increase water pressure, and three wells will be rehabilitated to increase water supply.
The project will be financed through a combination of a $1,664,000 grant and a $2,855,000 40-year low-interest loan.
After delays due to COVID-19, the project is now on track to begin the construction bidding process in fall 2022. To see a map of which water lines will be replaced, contact City Hall.
