The City of Linden has a goal of making daily life safe and accessible for all Linden citizens regardless of age or ability. Accessibility for those who depend on it the most ultimately benefits the entire community. Slower traffic on residential streets makes walking to work safe for those who can't afford a vehicle while also keeping children safe while riding their bikes in front of their houses. Sidewalks for individuals with mobility aids are also used by parents with strollers. A walkable community with safe access from homes to work, grocery stores, parks, schools and shops makes a safer, healthier and friendlier community for all of us. With this goal in mind, the City will undertake multiple projects to make streets safer for pedestrians and add sidewalks and walking paths wherever able.
